Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral from my physician?

No. The state of North Carolina does not require a physician’s referral to start care with a physical therapist. If you have questions about seeing your physician first, Dr. Lineberger is happy to discuss with you prior to your appointment.

What should I wear?

Clothes that are comfortable to move in and allow for manual therapy, if needed. If you are seeking treatment for the low back/hip/knee/ankle area, shorts or loose pants are best. If seeking treatment for the neck/shoulder/elbow/hand region, a tank or sports bra that exposes the shoulder blade is best.

What types of payment do you accept?

Cash, check, credit, debit, HSA/FSA

Why don’t you accept insurance?

Current insurance reimbursement rates are forcing physical therapy clinics to treat multiple patients at one time to maintain profits. At Pursuit, I believe that one-on-one care is best for both the patient and the provider. I also believe that your insurance company should not dictate what is best treatment for the patient.

If you are interested in submitting for reimbursement from your insurance provider, I can prepare a superbill for you to submit toward your out-of-network benefits.

What diagnoses do you treat?

At Pursuit, Dr. Lineberger is able to treat musculoskeletal issues and injuries from head to toe. From headaches to plantar fasciitis and all the sprains, strains, and pains in between. If you have questions about whether Pursuit is the place to address your concerns, fill out the contact form below, or give Dr. Lineberger a call at 704-340-8045.
